| What is a monocoque body? |
|
Conventionally, the spinning reel was a system in which both ends of a drive
gear are supported by a body and a body cover and fixed by several screws.
Aiming at accuracy and rigidity exceeding this structure, the monocoque body
was fixed by screwing a high precision plate directly into the body without
wasting the body cover. This increases the support accuracy of the gear,
improves the rigidity and airtightness. Furthermore, we succeeded in
expanding the size of the drive gear to the limit by making use of the space
conventionally taken in the screw. Monocoque body means MONO (one) - COQUE
(shell). A completely new asymmetrical design symbolizing the toughness of a
single shellfish seems to predict the arrival of a new era in which Daiwa's
technology breaks down the common sense of reel structures one more time. |

Daiwa's original waterproof and durable technology to block water and dust
by creating a film of magnetic fluid called "mag oil" in the gap between the
rotor and the body. Compared to a waterproof system using packing and the
like, since it is liquid, the coefficient of friction between the rotor and
the body can be drastically reduced, resulting in surprisingly light
rotation. Maintaining the initial smooth rotation performance is a great
advantage for reels that are placed in harsh environments such as rain and
wave splashes. |

A new generation drag system that keeps on working while smoothly following
the fish pull. It is harder to break a line because it is smooth than
before, and it is hard to make a fish run unnecessarily because it is hard
to give a sense of incompatibility. In addition, there is a unique
stickiness in the feeling of operation, even with a low drag setting value
runs at a stroke decreasing, the frequency of drag recalibration during
fight decreases and you can concentrate on fighting. |

It is a carbon resin woven with carbon fiber at high density, making it
